Our Organization

WindAid Institute is an American and Peruvian nonprofit organization dedicated to providing renewable energy technology and learning workshops to communities who do not have access to electricity in rural Peru. We engineer solutions to this problem by harnessing wind energy to provide a clean and reliable source of electricity. WindAid also serves as an educational institute welcoming students from all over the world.

Our Work

WindAid works to electrify rural and remote parts of Peru by donating small-scale wind turbine and solar systems to families who do not have access to the grid. We provide basic lighting and phone charging capabilities to help families stay connected to the modern world.

Our Programs

Wind/Solar Technician

  • A fast tracked program that teaches participants how to build wind turbine parts and install solar panel systems in the field.


  • 2 Weeks

  • 2 Week Program: $1,240 USD

  • Choose 2 consecutive weeks between the following dates:

Wind Turbine Engineering

  • Our most popular program that provides in depth training on how to build and install an entire small-scale wind turbine system while gaining hands-on experience in the workshop and in the field.

Internship

  • A 3-in-1 program that combines the Wind/Solar Technician and Wind Turbine Engineering programs, and also teaches key aspects of nonprofit management. This intensive program requires interns to deliver additional deliverables.
